Bridgecom Semiconductors is a growing tech startup specializing in 5G solutions, with locations in Munich and Linz. We are actively looking for a motivated system engineer with focus on modem performance in our team in Munich. This role requires a balance of in-depth modem understanding and hands-on lab- and field-testing. You'll work in a cross-functional manner with the Bridgecom RF, FW, and algo development teams across our sites.
Your ResponsibilitiesAs System Engineer for 5G NR PHY Algorithm Development, you will be responsible for:
- Taking part in all aspects of algorithm development, from exploration and specification to HW and FW reference modeling and verification, for our 5G NR modem baseband PHY
- Designing Baseband Algorithms for 4G/5G best in class cellular receivers
- Performing link level simulations of the wireless receiver chain and optimizing the algorithms
- HW and FW reference model development including fixed point design, memory and power optimization
- Support of HW and FW teams in validating functionality and performance in pre- and post-silicon phases of the product development and reproduction of field issues
- Development of innovative receiver algorithms/concepts, issue patents and track/contribute to wireless communication standards (3GPP)
- Master's degree or PhD in Communication Engineering.
- Expertise in Signal Processing Algorithms with focus on Wireless Communications
- Experience in wireless communications algorithms (at least in one of the fields below)
- Channel/Noise/Parameter Estimation
- Channel equalization, Nonlinear Detectors like MLD and Sphere Detectors
- Time and Frequency Synchronization and AGC
- Channel State Feedback
- Cell Search and Measurement
- LDPC and or Polar decoders
- Experience in applying machine learning to communication systems
- Familiar with wireless communication standards like 4G/5G
- Good programming skills in Python, C/C++, fluent in Git operation.
- Familiar with Link Level Simulators (MATLAB or C/C++ based) for functional and performance simulations
- Self-motivated and willing to assume end-to-end responsibility.
- Good communication and coordination skills, a good team-player.
- Fluend in technical English communication.
