• Project / Department Overview

The Project Management Center of Excellence (PM CoE) provides project management expertise, standards, and methodologies across multiple organizational units. It supports the consistent application of classical and agile project management practices in complex IT environments.

The role is assigned to infrastructure service projects and programs, focusing on the delivery and control of decentralized and centralized IT infrastructure solutions. These projects typically involve complex technical environments and high coordination requirements.

• Responsibilities and Scope of Work

The Associate Project Manager supports project managers in complex IT infrastructure and service projects, with a particular focus on technical infrastructure initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Include
Project Support & Coordination

• Provide project support services in complex IT infrastructure and IT service projects.
• Support technical infrastructure projects throughout their lifecycle.
• Assist project managers with special topics and ad-hoc tasks.

Project Controlling & Planning

• Perform project controlling activities related to schedules, milestones, costs, and quality assurance.
• Identify, document, and coordinate dependencies, changes, and risks within project plans.
• Maintain and update project plans, schedules, and work structures.

Documentation & Reporting

• Create and maintain project documentation, including:

• Project plans

• Status reports
• Meeting minutes
• Resource, communication, and absence lists

• Substitution and escalation lists

• Ensure proper organization and maintenance of project documentation repositories.

Communication & Organization

• Set up and manage regular project communication routines.
• Coordinate meetings, appointments, and workshops.
• Manage project communication and documentation platforms.

Procurement Support

• Support procurement activities related to project services and external resources.
• Qualifications

Language Skills

• German: C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
• Proof required unless German is the candidates native language

Tools & Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in:

• MS Project

• MS Outlook
• MS Visio
• MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• SharePoint
• Jira

Education & Professional Background
One Of The Following Is Required

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or another IT-related discipline, or
• Recognized vocational training in an IT profession, or
• At least 6 years of professional experience in an IT environment
• Project Management Experience & Certifications

Project Management Knowledge

• Proven knowledge and experience in classical and agile project management

• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience after graduation in:

• Complex organizations

• IT programs
• Large-scale IT projects or development projects

Certifications (or equivalent evidence)
One Or More Of The Following

• IPMA Level D
• PMI CAPM
• PRINCE2 Foundation
• Scrum PSM / PSPO

If a required certificate cannot be provided for reasons beyond the candidates control, equivalent evidence demonstrating comparable qualifications may be accepted.

• Professional Experience Requirements

• At least 4 years of professional experience in:

• Organizing or managing projects of medium to high complexity

• PMO environments within the IT sector

• Practical experience in applying standard project management methodologies

• Experience must be continuous, recent, and substantial (not sporadic)
