As a recognized leader in providing Private Markets Solutions to clients across the globe, we manage approximately $140.9 billion in discretionary assets and have oversight of an additional $845.3 in non-discretionary assets as of June 30, 2025.
The Opportunity:
As a Principal, Client Solutions, you will develop and secure new business opportunities in Germany and will be a part of the wider European sales team, reporting to the Head of Germany and Austria.
You will be responsible for sourcing and winning new business across Germany Private Wealth channels, managing existing client relationships, and be the "Head of Private Wealth Germany". You will cover private wealth investors/wealth management platforms, such as private banks and external asset managers, as well as family offices (covered by both institutional and private wealth, depending on size and level of institutionalization).
In this role, you will be a senior representative of Hamilton Lane in Germany. You must demonstrate excellent judgment and strong acumen, and have profound knowledge of private markets to be a spokesperson for Hamilton Lane in the market.
Success in the role will result in a deepening of relationships with German private wealth clients, and sales to these clients across our customized solutions and fund solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the sales process for prospects in the region.
- Interface with senior management across Hamilton Lane in the coordination of internal and external prospect meetings.
- Contribute to the development of standard marketing materials and presentations.
- Ensure quality and timeliness with respect to our response to RFPs and RFIs, when applicable.
- Maintain sales activities and new business pipeline in CRM.
- Communicate to Hamilton Lane prospects and the market, when required.
- Must be knowledgeable about the private markets, HL's solutions offerings, and the firm´s due diligence activities at any point in time.
- Oversee the coordination of Hamilton Lane inter-department resources, including Reporting, Due Diligence, Business Development and Senior Management.
- Be an active participant in Hamilton Lane's sales meetings.
- Attend and/or participate in regional industry-related events as a representative of Hamilton Lane.
Your background will include:
- Degree from a University. CFA/CAIA or other relevant designation is preferred, but not required.
- 8+ years of experience in sales covering Wealth Management or Private Banking clients. Single Family Offices are covered by Private Wealth as well as Institutional.
- A hunter with a proven track record. A respected business builder in Germany.
- Private markets experience is a plus.
- Must have a winning personality and excellent communication skills, be an attentive listener.
- Be well organized and deadline focused, pursue excellence in what you do, be proactive and able to comfortably interact with clients, prospects and intermediaries.
- Fluency in German (native speaker) and English.
- Ability to understand and develop a working knowledge of proprietary systems and software.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel).
Other Requirements:
- Extensive travel
- Ad hoc travel to other Hamilton Lane offices as required e.g. London or Conshohocken
