KMS Communications is seeking Berlin-based data centre and fibre engineers to support ongoing and upcoming telecoms and hyperscale data centre projects.

KMS Communications operates under ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO Environmental Management), and ISO Occupational Health & Safety) certified management systems. All work is delivered in line with defined scopes, method statements, and strict data centre labelling, fibre handling, safety, and documentation standards in English.

Typical tasks

  • Installation and removal of network equipment
  • Rack & stack activities
  • Fibre patching, routing, and labelling
  • Installation of optical modules (SFP / QSFP)
  • Fibre inspection, cleaning, and verification
  • Basic fibre testing where required
  • Power checks and visual inspections
  • Hands & eyes support in live data centre environments
  • Photo documentation and task confirmation

Essential requirements

  • Based in Berlin or able to commute daily
  • Proven, hands-on data centre experience (essential)
  • Experience working in live data centre environments
  • Ability to work independently to written scopes and method statements
  • Fluent English (spoken and written – essential)
  • High attention to detail, safety awareness, and documentation standards

Applicants without proven data centre experience and fluent English will not be considered.

Tooling & equipment

Engineers must provide their own tooling, including:

  • Brother P-touch label printer (mandatory – required for site labelling standards)
  • Fibre inspection scope
  • One-click fibre optic cleaners (LC / SC as required)
  • Standard data centre hand tools and PPE

The following may be required depending on scope:

  • Optical power meter
  • Light source

Additional information

  • Local work only (no travel or accommodation provided)
  • Work scheduled during standard site hours unless otherwise agreed
  • All work must comply with KMS Communications' ISO-certified quality, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Invoicing monthly on agreed terms
