Ready for Take-off – Your Mission

In your role as Tech Lead, you will work directly with our VP Engineering, Sebastian Belle, and our platform architects.You will be responsible for the overall technical strategy of the backstage system, including architectural decisions and the technology roadmap.Your perspective will be crucial in migrating our infrastructure from ECS to Kubernetes as well as in consolidating our databases from Neo4j to PostgreSQL.You will take the lead in modernizing the frontend – moving from Bootstrap to Material UI and a consistent design system.With your contribution, you will drive technical excellence within your team through code reviews, best practices, and knowledge sharing.Together with your team, you will continuously improve system stability, performance, and scalability.As part of our team, you will take responsibility for executing complex migration projects in close collaboration with Cloud Ops and Product Management.

What you bring on board - Your profile

You bring at least 8 years of experience in software development, including 3 years in a technical leadership role.You have deep expertise in Python (Django & FastAPI) and are proficient in working with TypeScript and React.PostgreSQL is more than just a database to you – you master query optimization, data modeling, and complex queries at an expert level.Ideally, you already have experience with Kubernetes, Helm Charts, Datadog, as well as AI-supported tools like Claude or Cursor AI.You are a strong communicator, explain technical concepts clearly, and find pragmatic solutions balancing tech excellence with business value.You act independently and lead your team with inspiration and technical strength.You speak fluent English and ideally good German.

We warmly welcome you anytime to our office near Berlin Central Station, but you can also choose a hybrid or fully remote work model.You can organize your working hours flexibly and, if you wish and upon agreement, make use of a workation within Europe.We offer 28 vacation days plus one additional day per year, up to a maximum of 30 days. On Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, our office remains closed.We support your social engagement and grant you two additional days off per year for this purpose.We subsidize sports, lunch, or public transport up to €50/month.Internally, we place great value on our meeting-free Focus Friday.
