Systems & Application Engineer - ADAS/ AI / C++

We are currently partnered with a global semiconductor leader developing cutting-edge technologies for ADAS and autonomous driving systems. The team is expanding and looking for two Systems & Applications Engineers to work on next-generation embedded platforms and perception technologies that enable safer, smarter vehicles.

This is a 12 month freelance contracting engagement based onsite in Munich.

Key Responsibilities for this Systems & Applications Engineer position:

  • Design, implement, and optimize algorithms for ADAS features such as AEB, ACC, and radar-based perception.
  • Develop, debug, and maintain software in C++ and Python for embedded and real-time environments.
  • Work with ROS/ROS2 to build modular and reusable robotics software components.
  • Integrate and calibrate sensors including radar, LiDAR, cameras, and IMUs for perception and data fusion.
  • Develop networking solutions for real-time communication between ECUs, sensors, and compute nodes (Ethernet, CAN, UDP/TCP).
  • Collaborate across software, hardware, and system teams to ensure system stability and performance.
  • Conduct performance profiling, debugging, and root-cause analysis of embedded systems.
  • Support testing, validation, and documentation of ADAS and autonomous systems.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering (or related field).
  • 5–10 years of professional experience in embedded software development, automotive systems, or robotics.
  • Strong skills in C++ and Python, with experience in real-time, multithreaded systems.
  • Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS2 and robotics middleware.
  • Knowledge of sensor technologies (radar, LiDAR, IMU, cameras) and data processing pipelines.
  • Experience with sensor calibration, synchronization, and data fusion.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols (Ethernet, CAN) and tools like Wireshark or CAN analyzers.
