Company:Qualcomm Technologies International GmbHJob Area:Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Applications EngineeringGeneral Summary:This position is for the Qualcomm Automotive Engineering team, which closely collaborates with its automotive partners and customers from concept to commercialization. The hardware team is involved with all aspects of customer design activities from requirements, hardware design, through to certification, production, and post production support.We are looking for a strong hardware engineer with good knowledge and hands-on experience in design/development/debugging aspects of embedded automotive applications.The main responsibility is to provide direct support to Qualcomm customers and partners with the design, development and debug of customer designs based on the Qualcomm reference designs, HW related issues and helping to customize/optimize the customer design to meet the product requirements using the features in Qualcomm SOC.The candidate must quickly ramp-up to be effective on projects, understand automotive platform hardware/debugging and system architecture, demonstrate strong analytical and systematic problem-solving abilities, and work closely with external customers to customize and launch their new products.The successful candidate will get a chance to work on cutting edge ADAS and Infotainment hardware platforms from leading auto manufacturers and Tier1s and contribute to drive the projects through to commercialization.Required Qualifications:5+ years Hardware Applications Engineering, HW Board Development and Debugging experience, HW Board Architecture experience, or related work experience.Experience with Embedded HW platform development, integration and debugging.Good understanding of the architecture of an automotive embedded ADAS/IVI designExcellent issue triage and debugging skills with complex system level issues.An intrinsic desire for systematic working and ability to deliver high quality results in a stressful environment.Good communication and excellent team working skills.Quick adaptability to work in new technologies.Ability to take up project management responsibilities and basic understanding of software development processes.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Automotive Infotainment or Autonomous Driving projectsExperience in using debugging tools such as JTAG.Excellent knowledge using common test equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyser, spectrum analyser, multimeter)Like Power Delivery Networks and signal integrity for high speed interface like DDR, PCIe, UFS, Ethernet, USB, CSI and DSI simulations/debugging - Experiences in boardGood knowledge about peripheral bridge chips for USB, DSI, CSI and Ethernet connections in automotive designsExperience with thermal and power consumption analysis and measurement techniquesWorking knowledge of Functional Safety topics and specs.Ability to mentor junior team members in technical topics and take a leading role in cross-functional teams.Driving license for Germany and ability to freely travel within Europe and North America.Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Electronics, or related field, (Masters Preferred)Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.ORMaster's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.ORPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience. 2+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.1+ year of experience with debugging techniques.References to a particular number of years experience are for indicative purposes only.
