Mission of the Role:
As the Tuner Reception Architect within our IVI development team, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of in-vehicle radio reception and architecture. Your mission is to drive excellence in tuner system design and performance across global platforms, fostering a collaborative and technically innovative environment. As a technical leader, you will empower your team to deliver robust, scalable solutions that meet evolving customer and market demands. Your team will play a critical role in advancing our strategic goals, ensuring seamless integration of tuner technologies, and delivering exceptional reception performance. You will lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team, promoting a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and engineering excellence. Your deep domain expertise and strategic vision will be key to enhancing customer satisfaction, achieving operational efficiency, and driving forward our commitment to quality and innovation in automotive infotainment.

Key Objectives of this Role:

  • To create a software architecture of the system that would fulfil system/functional requirements, and achieve the desired business outcome.
  • Lead the architecture of (Tuner Domain) to deliver a scalable, reliable, modular, and high-quality product design, and guide the software development teams.
  • Responsible for the architecture definition and reviewing a high-level design, consulting on the requirement gathering process, and supporting the overall software delivery.
  • Leading the Tuner architecture and system design for IVI/CDC products.
  • Owning the Tuner end-to-end system architecture, including SOC and VIP. DSP, AMP & other peripherals.
  • Consults and influences the customer, intercepting the business needs and leveraging their knowledge to sell existing solutions.
  • Proposes innovative and business-aligned solutions, estimates meeting customer requirements.
  • Leads technical discussions with internal and external customers to provide technical differentiation.
  • Understands market needs, trends, and upgrades the domain capability to meet technology competitiveness.
  • Analyze and identify requirements and specifications for translation into software architecture.
  • Documentation for software architecture, design, and use guides.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to software development teams and are responsible for building technical competencies.
  • Guides the team to develop production-ready software, following a defined software development process.
  • Lead Tuner field reception tuning along with the Customer.
  • Guide the team to debug complex Tuner issues in the system, including field reception conditions.
  • Guide the team, System profiling and analysis of Tuner-related issues (end-to-end, including peripherals).
  • Mentor the teams in building a new competency, guides or provides technical training.
  • Support the team for complex system design and solutions.
  • Peer review the design & developments tasks of the team.
  • Be a team player, work both independently and within large global teams.
  • Focus on quality system performance.
  • Incorporate Agile Methodologies during the entire software lifecycle.

  • Complete end‑to‑end tuner system architecture documented and approved.
  • Successful execution of customer field reception tuning sessions.
  • Establishment of a debugging and performance analysis approach for tuner issues.
  • Delivery of knowledge‑transfer and competency‑building sessions to the team.
  • Creation of reusable architecture components for future platforms.
  • Strong alignment and collaboration established with customer engineering teams.

Qualification, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Electronics (Master's preferred).
  • Experience in the IVI domain for Tuner features.
  • Overall, IVI system knowledge, including the HW peripherals.
  • Expertise in Tuner standards, AM/FM, RDS/RBDS, DAB/DAB+, IBOC/HD radio, SDARS/SXM, Software Defined Radio.
  • Expertise in Tuner concepts (Regional Constellations, Demodulation, Decoding, Linking/Blending, Multi-path, Interference).
  • 15+ years of experience in software product life cycle and embedded software development using C or C++ language.
  • 5+ years of experience in Software Architecture definitions.
  • RTOS & OS (Linux/Android) experience.
  • Embedded Hardware understanding, datasheet, schematics.
  • Expertise in Tuner measurement & tests, usage of tools.
  • Expertise in Tuner reception tuning.
  • Experience in developing embedded, real-time, safety-critical software systems using established processes is also desirable.
  • Experience with configuration management & defect management tools.
  • Experience in field reception conditions.
  • Experience with RF basics and its implications.
  • Experience in building and maintaining strong customer relationships, with a commitment to customer satisfaction and quality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
