Senior DevOps Engineer

Your missionYour Role
You make sure our Athereon GRC platform gets smoothly deployed for new customers – in the cloud and on-premises – and that it runs reliably in production. You drive automation of deployments, evolve our CI/CD landscape, and ensure that we always have full visibility into the state of our systems. In addition to operations, you work closely with the backend team to design, deploy, and maintain integrations and interfaces.

Your ResponsibilitiesDeployment & Operations

• Plan and manage the rollout of new customer environments – both in the OpenTelekomCloud and in customers' on-premises infrastructures.
• Perform releases and updates for existing customers, ensuring proper versioning and rollback capabilities.
• Standardize and document recurring deployment processes to keep them efficient and reproducible.

Automation & CI/CD

• Identify manual steps in deployment and operations and turn them into automated workflows (e.g. scripts, pipelines, playbooks).
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g. for automatic deployments of development and test environments).
• Work closely with developers to ensure build, test, and deployment processes fit together seamlessly.

Monitoring, Logging & Reliability

• Set up and enhance monitoring and logging solutions for customer systems and our own infrastructure (e.g. with Grafana, Prometheus, Sentry).
• Define meaningful metrics and alerts and make sure incidents are analyzed systematically and resolved sustainably.
• Help build transparency around performance, availability, and capacity of our systems.

Infrastructure & Administration

• Manage and optimize our infrastructure in the OpenTelekomCloud (compute, storage, networking, security groups, etc.).
• Operate and maintain our Kubernetes clusters and container workloads.
• Work with identity and access management, especially Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and contribute to a secure authorization concept.

Interfaces & Integrations

• Develop, deploy, and maintain integrations between third-party software and the Athereon GRC platform (e.g. via REST APIs, webhooks, message queues).
• Support the backend team in designing robust interfaces and ensure their stable operation.

Your profileYour Profile

• You have a degree in Computer Science/IT or a comparable qualification (e.g. IT specialist) and several years of relevant professional experience in DevOps, platform operations, or a similar role.
• You are confident working with Linux, ideally Debian, and understand core system and network topics (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPN, DNS).
• You are proficient in Python and use it to build and maintain scripts, tools, and smaller services for automation.
• You have hands-on experience with Kubernetes (deployment, debugging, Helm/manifests, rolling updates) and containers (Docker or Podman).
• Monitoring and observability with tools such as Grafana and Prometheus are familiar to you; ideally you have also worked with Sentry or similar tools.
• You have already set up or significantly evolved CI/CD pipelines (Git-based workflows, automated tests, staging/production deployments).
• You have experience with Entra ID (Azure AD) or a comparable identity provider (user and group management, roles, single sign-on).
• Reliable, reproducible operation and secure configurations are important to you – topics like IT security, availability, and resilience are a natural part of your work.
• You can independently dive into new, complex topics, communicate clearly, and see yourself as part of a team that shares responsibility.

Nice to have (not mandatory, but a plus):

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience with on-premise deployments in heterogeneous customer environments.
• Basic understanding of compliance/security standards (e.g. ISO or the motivation to grow into that field.
