Group Taxation (GTAX) is the tax department of Allianz SE, the listed parent company of Allianz Group. GTAX supports the Board of Management to ensure high quality and efficient tax reporting and tax compliance and represents the company against external authorities. With our diverse team of more than 30 tax advisors, lawyers and senior experts we enable sustainable growth by providing tax advice to senior management, performing group wide tax planning and engaging in strategic projects. GTAX sets group wide tax standards, steers and coordinates the local tax functions to ensure effective tax risk management and to safeguard Allianz reputation as a responsible tax payer. In GTAX we constantly strive for benchmark performance and best practice.
GTAX operates in an international environment with continuous touchpoints with our operating entities, tax authorities, senior managers and C-level stakeholders. In your role as a tax expert in the Value Added Tax (VAT) team, GTAX is responsible for:
- Tax planning for the Allianz Group in regard of VAT
- Creating, driving and coordinating tax optimization measures with regard to VAT
- Ensuring stringent governance by closely collaborating with a strong network of local tax experts and central steering of activities
- Ensuring tax compliance of German Allianz companies
- Effective tax risk management
- In addition to VAT, consulting in Insurance Premium Tax and Wage Tax matters
How can you make an impact?
You will:
- Identify, develop and implement VAT planning measures globally and locally
- Provide expert advice on projects and investments with regard to VAT
- Manage tax compliance processes, ensuring tax compliance of German Allianz entities
- Harmonize tools and processes and share best practices within Allianz Group
- Advise on and implement VAT requirements and processes in ERP systems
- Analyze VAT developments and advise/support on adaption to changes
- Manage and instruct external tax advisors
- Manage tax audit and controversy management processes
What are you made of?
- Degree in business administration / economics, taxation or law (or other related field)
- 6+ years prior experience as tax advisor or inhouse tax manager
- Certified tax advisor
- Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
- Detailed knowledge in SAP R3 / S4 Hana and MS Office
- Expert knowledge in Value Added Tax
- Expert knowledge in taxation of financial services companies is a plus
- Project management
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience with AI solutions and automatization of tax processes
- Team player
- Previous experience in insurance or asset management business functions, consulting, digital / tech is a plus
- Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solution
