Product Scope

The Cloud division covers a range of services, including: -
Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS):
Compute, network, and storage services -
Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS):
Containers, databases, Big Data tools, and AI services

The Role

The Manager Quality Assurance Cloud leads a QA team to ensure the quality and reliability of cloud services. The role is based in Berlin and reports to the Head of Cloud Quality Assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of 5–10 QA engineers, fostering ownership and excellence
  • Develop, execute, and automate functional, performance, security, and compliance test suites
  • Ensure software releases meet quality standards before production deployment
  • Continuously improve testing frameworks, tools, and methodologies
  • Integrate AI to enhance test case generation and QA processes
  • Define QA processes, standards, and metrics for cloud services
  • Conduct defect triage, root-cause analysis, and verification of fixes
  • Collaborate with product teams to embed quality considerations early in development
  • Report QA status, risks, and progress to leadership
  • Support the definition of service-level objectives (SLOs) and agreements (SLAs) from a quality perspective

Key Interactions

  • Work closely with technology teams responsible for developing and maintaining the cloud stack
  • Coordinate with operations teams to gain production-environment insights
  • Engage with support teams on customer-facing issues
  • Collaborate with product management on roadmap alignment
  • Work with security teams to ensure QA meets certification and best practice requirements

The Candidate

  • 5+ years in software quality assurance, ideally in cloud or large-scale IT environments
  • 2+ years leading a QA team of 5–10 engineers
  • Experience with automated test frameworks and CI/CD integration, particularly for Golang and Java-based microservices
  • Familiar with AI applications in testing
  • Strong understanding of IaaS and PaaS testing challenges
  • Hands-on experience with performance, security, and compliance testing tools
  • Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
  • Excellent communication skills in English and German
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to influence cross-functional teams
  • Located in, or willing to relocate to, Berlin, Germany
