This is a unique opportunity to get in first in the build out of a world class Agentic AI hub in Munich. We want 10x Engineers with the vision to build AI Agents that will transform a Fortune 500 company and a passion for applying the latest AI research and technologies to create value.
The Role
As a Principal Engineer, you will lead the technical strategy and execution of advanced Agentic AI that will define competitive advantage in the market.
- Drive innovation while creating scalable, enterprise grade solutions that impact millions of customers daily
- Architect complex multi-Agent systems that orchestrate business processes across supply chain, customer touchpoints and sales operations
- Develop sophisticated AI Agents that handle complex customer interactions and internal business processes
- Lead technical discussions with Project/Product Managers and senior business stakeholders to shape AI strategy, roadmap development and evaluation of new frameworks
- Design comprehensive evaluation frameworks for AI Agent performance, including business impact measurement and continuous optimization
- Drive adoption of cutting-edge technologies like MCP, A2A protocols, and Google ADK across the organization
- Design scalable data pipelines and analytics systems that support real-time Agent decision-making
- Implement advanced backend architectures with TypeScript and Python, ensuring seamless frontend integration
- Research and prototype emerging AI Agent capabilities, translating academic research into practical business applications
- Ensure security, compliance and ethical AI practices across all agent deployments
The Candidate
As a Principal AI Engineer you will have a deep understanding of Agentic AI, a track record of with both internal automation and building customer facing AI Agents and experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in Python and growing production TypeScript development
- Advanced proficiency in multiple AI Agent frameworks (e.g. LangChain/LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen) with significant multi-agent system experience
- Expert knowledge of ML, Data Science and Advanced Analytics
- Extensive experience with Cloud platforms with a preference for GCP
- Understanding of modern backend frameworks and frontend integration experience
- Experience with MLOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and production AI system monitoring
- Understanding of success metrics / KPIs of a publicly listed company and how to link project outcome to top line and bottom line impact
- Fluent English and preference for fluent German
- 3 days per week in the office in Munich with some travel
