Sub-Segment Head of Accounting and Record to Report EMEA (m/f)

Position:

The Sub-Segment Head of Accounting and Record to Report plays a crucial role in managing the financial reporting and accounting processes for the Sub-Segment and is responsible for managing the preparation of accurate financial statements, maintaining comprehensive records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Collaboration with various departments and local entities is key to streamline processes and support audits, contributing to overall financial health and transparency of the organization.

This role is also responsible for maintaining and reviewing accounting and reporting policies and guidelines and to ensure local finance compliance with rules and requirements.

The position is based in Emsdetten,Germany, and reports directly to the Sub-Segment Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting:
  Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements for the Sub-Segment.
• Legal statutory statements:
  Ensure preparation and execution of legal statutory accounts.
• Record Maintenance:
  Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
• Reconciliation:
  Perform regular reconciliations of accounts, including bank statements, inter-company transactions, and sub-ledgers.
• Compliance:
  Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and regulations.
• Audit support:
  Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Process improvements:
  Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
• Budgeting:
  Support the budgeting and forecasting processes for the Sub-Segment.
• Collaboration:
  Work closely with other finance team members and departments to ensure cohesive financial management.
• Travel
  : Some travel across EMEA (mainly Europe) is necessary to manage the role.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, we believe that you possess the following skills, competencies & characteristics:

• Bachelor´s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Solid experience in accounting or financial reporting. Experience from an audit firm as well as group consolidation is an advantage.
• In-depth knowledge in accounting software (AX, D365 or similar).
• Excellent attention to details.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with pragmatic and target-driven approach.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Knowledge in German is an advantage.
