Senior Data Engineer – Content & Streaming

Berlin or London | Full-time

The mission

Join a global music‑tech platform building data and backend systems that sit behind hundreds of millions of tracks and a huge creator community. The team owns how content is modelled, moved and surfaced so listeners and artists get the right music, in the right place, in real time.

The role

You'll be a senior data/backend engineer in a content platform team, designing services and pipelines that power internal tools, external integrations and user‑facing features. Expect large‑scale distributed systems, streaming data and close collaboration with product and industry experts rather than isolated ETL work.

What you'll do

  • Design, build and evolve services for content modelling, serving and integration.
  • Develop batch and streaming pipelines on a modern cloud stack using infra‑as‑code and CI/CD.
  • Implement APIs and data services that power internal products, partner integrations and real‑time features.
  • Own data quality, governance and validation across ingestion, storage and serving layers.
  • Optimise performance, scalability and cost for backend services and data workflows, with strong observability and incident response practices.

What you bring

  • Solid backend experience (e.g. Scala/Go/Python) with strong design and data modelling skills.
  • Hands‑on experience building ETL/ELT and streaming solutions on cloud platforms, plus strong SQL across relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with event‑driven architectures and messaging systems, containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience deploying and running services in modern cloud environments and working cross‑functionally with backend, data and product teams.
