Job Description

As an ERTMS Engineer, you will be responsible for validating and verifying ERTMS signalling solutions to ensure they meet project specifications, safety standards, and performance requirements. You will work on both on-board (train) and trackside systems for domestic and international railway projects.

Key Responsibilities

Testing and Validation:

Define and review test procedures for ERTMS and ETCS (European Train Control System) sub-systems.

Execute tests in factory integration settings, during on-board commissioning, and on both test and open tracks.

Analyze test results and produce detailed test reports.

Troubleshooting and Anomaly Management:

Investigate and resolve technical issues that arise during testing and commissioning phases.

Formalize anomaly reports and coordinate with engineering teams to define regression test strategies after issue resolution.

System Integration and Deployment:

Support the deployment and maintenance of test benches and tools used for verification and validation (V&V).

Ensure seamless integration of signalling components with other train and infrastructure systems.

Technical Support and Representation:

Act as a subject-matter expert, providing technical support to other teams and stakeholders.

Documentation and Configuration Management:

Manage the documentation, configuration, and change management cycle related to V&V activities.

Maintain detailed records of test results, anomalies, and corrective actions.

Qualifications and Skills

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Railway Signalling, or a related technical field.

Technical Experience:

Proven experience in railway signalling, with a specific focus on ERTMS/ETCS.

Experience with verification and validation (V&V), testing, or commissioning of complex systems.

Knowledge of railway safety standards and processes (e.g., CENELEC standards).

Language Skills:

Fluency in German is often required, or at least a high level of proficiency.

Travel:
Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites for commissioning and testing activities
