Staff Engineer

We are looking for a Staff Engineer (all genders) for our portfolio company reev.

At reev, our goal is to bring eMobility to everyone. We're doing this through sustainable, innovative technology, ensuring driver satisfaction, providing reliable service, and expanding in Europe. With 6,000+ B2B clients, we achieved 662.7M electric driven kms, 79.5M kg saved CO2 and 116M delivered kWh in 2024. In 2025, we're set to grow further. Over the past year, we've scaled our energy platform and raised our engineering standards. We're now looking for a Staff Engineer (all genders) to take us further.

You'll lead cross-domain teams, shape project scopes with stakeholders, and apply a strong product mindset. Your role will bridge technical depth and leadership to drive projects that make a real impact. In detail this means:

• Designing and running scalable, cloud-native systems using modern modular patterns.
• Coordinating technical planning across domains and teams.
• Leading initiatives that improve reliability, performance, and observability.
• Setting engineering standards and support technical growth across teams.
• Coaching other engineers and fostering a learning culture.
• Optimising performance and scalability in critical services.
• Troubleshooting and resolving system issues in development and production.
• Contributing to AI-enabled products through strong backend practices. You'll work with tools like AWS, Terraform, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. Our backend stack includes Kotlin, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Docker.

• You have 10+ years of professional experience in backend development, with deep experience in Kotlin or Java.
• You have in-depth knowledge of Spring Boot, REST APIs, WebSockets, PostgreSQL, and CI/CD workflows.
• You have experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and infrastructure as code.
• You are experienced with event-driven architecture.
• You have a proactive approach to leadership and mentoring.
• You show the ability to align engineering work with business and product goals.
• Our company language is English.
