Senior UX Designer

We are looking for a Senior UX Designer (all genders) to join us full-time and on a permanent basis as soon as possible.

We live a remote-first culture, but you are free to choose whether you want to work hybrid or fully on-site, depending on your proximity to one of our locations.

As a Senior UX Designer, you will take responsibility for ensuring that our products and platforms not only work – but truly excite.

You translate complex technical requirements into intuitive, clear, and aesthetically pleasing user experiences and journeys that developers, businesses, and end users around the world can understand and love.

In your role, you analyze user needs, apply research methods such as interviews, usability testing, and data-driven analysis, and develop well-founded concepts based on your findings.

You create user journeys, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes, test hypotheses, and accompany the concepts through to final implementation.

In doing so, you work closely with product management, development, marketing, and other stakeholders – always with the goal of measurably improving the user experience and laying the foundation for our continued growth.

In the long term, you will shape the design culture at Contabo: you will establish design guidelines, introduce design systems, and ensure that UX becomes an integral part of all processes.

This way, you ensure that we are not only leaders in cloud technology – but also in user experience.

Must-haves

• 5+ years of professional experience in UX design, ideally in a SaaS, tech, or e-commerce environment
• Strong skills in user research, usability testing, and customer journey mapping
• Solid experience with common UX/UI tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
• Proven track record in designing and implementing complex user interfaces
• Ability to translate technical requirements into user-centered designs
• Excellent communication and presentation skills – including towards non-design stakeholders
• Very good English skills, both written and spoken

Should-haves

• Experience in building and maintaining design systems
• Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, basic understanding of frontend frameworks)
• Experience working with international, cross-functional teams

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in cloud hosting, SaaS, or developer tools
• Basic knowledge of data analytics to support data-driven UX decisions
• German language skills
