Packaging Operations Intern

The role
As an Intern in our packaging department, you will join an international team across the globe building and developing best-in-class packaging solutions, from optimization to complete new R&D projects led by our Berlin based knowledge expertises. What You'll Do
We understand our interns as an integral part of the team and your contributions will have a direct visible impact to our operations. You will independently manage and drive a workstream, which may be found across the broad range of the teams' key responsibilities. This may include:

• Planning and analysis of test for packaging machinery and recyclable materials
• Support of operations while installation and ramp-up phase for new packaging machinery (mostly thermoforming) or for new material rollouts.
• Definition, implementation and standardization of production processes (incl. maintenance & inventory)
• Creation of training materials, templates, procedures and slides for future testing and operations
• Create business cases for future equipment investments
• Opportunity to work with stakeholders from up to 20 different countries around the globe to collect data and understand critical pain-points.

The international role will be based in our Berlin office or Barleben DC. This position requires occasional travel to our local fulfillment centers in the markets (e.g. DE, UK, Nordics), ideally every 2 weeks, visiting a DC. This role requires a B1/B2 level of German to be able to communicate easily with floor operators and

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree from top-tier college or university in Mechanical Engineering or related topics.
• Very good understanding of Operation processes and Supply Chain Management.
• Strong analytical skills and proficient in Microsoft Excel / Tableau
• Profound knowledge of thermodynamics and packaging material
• High emphasis on being data and results-driven
• Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage priorities simultaneously and meet time-sensitive deadlines
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work successfully in flexible team structures around the world
• Sound quantitative and analytical skills.
• The ability to identify possible problems or stumbling blocks and breaking complex tasks into manageable segments
• Aptitude for creating project plans, tracking objectives, and delivering results autonomously
• An entrepreneurial mindset combined with the ability to take the initiative, work independently and drive implementation
• You are a team player and thrive in a large international and diverse team
• Excellent command of the English language is a must. German is needed to the B1/2 level.
• Ability to commit to a minimum of 6 months, 12 would be a plus.
