The Local Experience Munich
is launching the city's
first-ever
Bavarian Cooking Class in English — and we're looking for a charismatic
Chef-Guide
to bring it to life

This is not a typical chef job.

This is not a typical tour guide job.

This is a
fun, social, hands-on cooking adventure
where you'll lead travelers through Munich's Viktualienmarkt, shop for fresh ingredients, teach Bavarian classics, and host a delicious communal feast. If you love cooking and love people — this is the perfect role.

What you'll do:

Host the Experience

  • Meet guests at Marienplatz and welcome them with warmth and energy.
  • Lead a lighthearted stroll through Viktualienmarkt, choosing fresh ingredients and explaining local food culture.

Teach & Cook

  • Guide guests through a hands-on Bavarian cooking workshop in our fully equipped studio.
  • Teach dishes like giant pretzels, Käsespätzle, Obazda, Knödel, and more.
  • Give a short chef demo of Krustenbraten or Schweinshaxe (pre-roasted).
  • Show how to make classic Bavarian beer sauce, salads, and seasonal sides.

Create a Shared Meal

  • Plate dishes beautifully and set up a cozy, family-style meal.
  • Enjoy the food and conversation with guests — this is part of the experience

Be the Heart of the Experience

  • Keep the vibe fun, relaxed, and social.
  • Help beginners feel confident in the kitchen.
  • Create a memorable, warm, "cook with a local friend" feeling.

What we're looking for:

Cooking skills

You don't need to be Michelin-starred — but you must be confident cooking and teaching Bavarian-style dishes.

Personality

Friendly, entertaining, and comfortable speaking in front of groups (up to 10 guests).

English fluency

Most guests will be international, so great English is essential. German is a plus.

People skills

Patience, humor, and the ability to make guests feel welcome — from experienced home cooks to total beginners.

Reliability

You are punctual and can manage prep, timing, safety, and group flow with confidence.

Passion for Munich & Bavarian cuisine

You should love the markets, the food traditions, and sharing your passion with others.
