Frontend Developer

You will develop user-facing software that enables people to connect to robots, configure them, and use them to perform meaningful tasks. Your work transforms complex robotics technology into intuitive and usable experiences.

You will collaborate closely with a team of robotics software developers who build the backend systems that communicate directly with the robots. Together, your shared mission is to guide users throughout their entire journey of working with robots - from first connection to productive use.

We are therefore looking for a frontend developer with strong communication skills and a passion for user-centric design. You will act as a bridge between users, UX/UI, and backend systems, and take ownership across the full software development lifecycle - from design and API definition to implementation and deployment.

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain web-based frontend applications using modern frameworks such as React and TypeScript, based on high-quality designs created in Figma.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and engineers to define, design, and deliver new features.
• Translate product and user requirements into robust technical concepts, anticipating implementation challenges and dependencies.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes for frontend applications.
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions to uphold high engineering standards.
• Improve and maintain test coverage across the testing pyramid (unit, integration, and end-to-end tests) to ensure the safe, reliable, and bug-free operation of software that controls powerful physical robots.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Several years of professional experience as a software developer with a strong focus on frontend development.
• Strong product mindset, with the ability to view the product from the customer's perspective and combine customer requirements with UX and UI considerations.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and assume ownership of your work.
• Extensive experience in responsive web design using modern web technologies and frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Svelte.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks, ideally Playwright or comparable tools such as Cypress or Selenium.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, software packaging (e.g. npm), and frontend test automation (e.g. Jest).
• Proficiency with branch-based Git workflows, including merge requests, code reviews, and pipeline-based quality gates.
• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and a collaborative working style.
• Ability and will to work onsite at least 3 days per week.
• Fluent in English (German is a plus).

Awesome if you have:

• Experience with server-side development, ideally in Python or similar languages.
• Exposure to robotics, IoT, or industrial automation domains.
• Familiarity with containerized environments (e.g. Docker)
• Ability to think creatively and challenge assumptions to find the best solutions in collaboration with others.
• A portfolio showcasing previous web or frontend work, with tangible examples of your expertise.
