As a Senior Manager DC Software Development, you are responsible for leading and coordinating our software development team in Karlsruhe, which specializes in the purchase, development, and optimization of software solutions for our data center and bare metal teams. You will play a key role in shaping our technology roadmap and ensuring that our software infrastructure supports our teams' work in the best possible way while meeting the highest standards for performance, scalability, and reliability.

Tasks

• Team Leadership and Development:
  Lead, motivate, and develop a team of highly skilled software developers and system engineers. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Strategic Planning:
  Develop the strategic direction of data center & bare metal software development in collaboration with your product owners and other stakeholders. Identify and integrate new technologies and trends into our solutions.
• Project Management:
  Oversee the entire software development cycle from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing to deployment and maintenance. Ensure adherence to schedules and budgets.
• Technical Excellence:
  Ensure the technical quality and architecture of our software solutions. Make informed decisions regarding design principles, coding standards, and best practices.
• Collaboration:
  Work closely with data center and bare metal operations and other relevant teams to ensure seamless integration and smooth operation of our data center applications.
• Performance Optimization:
  Analyze and optimize the performance of our software to continuously improve the efficiency and reliability of the data centers.
• Risk Management:
  Identify and mitigate potential risks of our applications and during the implementation or introduction of new solutions.

Qualifications

• Education:
  Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or comparable qualification.
• Leadership Experience:
  Several years of experience in a leadership position in software development, ideally in a data center or similarly technically complex environment.
• Technical Expertise:
  Profound knowledge of modern software development methods (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and programming languages (e.g., Python, Ruby on Rails).
• AI Expertise:
  Strong affinity for current AI trends and their practical application to optimize business processes and create innovative products.
• Cloud and DC Technologies:
  Comprehensive understanding of cloud architectures, virtualization, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Network Knowledge:
  Basic understanding of network architecture and firewall configurations is desirable.
• Architecture Knowledge:
  Experience in designing scalable, highly available, and robust software systems for data centers.
• Communication Skills:
  Excellent communication and presentation skills in German and English, both written and spoken.
• Problem-Solving Skills:
  Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented working style.
• Team Ability:
  Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team environment.
