The Max Planck Society's Semiconductor Laboratory (HLL) is located on the research campus in Garching. High-precision radiation sensors and detector systems for use in X-ray astronomy, high-energy physics and materials research are developed, manufactured and tested here in a 1,500 square metre clean room. Around 50 employees from various countries work together in a highly international and interdisciplinary environment. To provide technical support to the scientific, technical and service departments, we are looking for a full-time (39 hours per week)

IT system administrator (m/f/d)

Your tasks

  • Strategic planning and further development of the IT infrastructure for science
  • Management of a 2-person IT team
  • Responsibility for an efficient, secure and stable IT infrastructure

Your profile

  • Completed (technical) university degree in information technology, computer sciences or related fields, or comparable qualification
  • Experience in Windows, MacOS, Solaris and ZFS installation, configuration and error analysis
  • Relevant or several years of experience in Linux server administration
  • Service orientation, ability to work in a team and independently
  • Very good knowledge of German and English
