About The Role
We are looking for a Finance & Accounting Associate who is eager to learn, take ownership, and grow with us in a dynamic startup environment. This role offers hands-on exposure across accounting, payroll support, compliance, and financial reporting, working closely with cross-functional teams in Germany and beyond.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or currently pursuing one
  • 1–3 years of experience in finance, accounting, audit, or AP/AR
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll processes, and compliance
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel and DATEV
  • Fluency in English; B2-level German is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High learning agility and adaptability in a startup environment

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to work independently and proactively

Your Responsibilities
Accounting & transactions

  • Record and process financial transactions (sales, purchases, expenses, reimbursements, bank, cash) in DATEV
  • Ensure accurate expense allocation to defined cost centres
  • Maintain invoices and documentation in DATEV and SharePoint
  • Coordinate with HR on payroll, personnel cost centres, and statutory payments

Accounts payable & receivable

  • Review and process supplier invoices and expense reports
  • Track AP/AR and maintain payment schedules
  • Reconcile bank accounts, company credit cards, and balances

Compliance & audit

  • Support compliance with German tax and statutory requirements
  • Assist in internal and external audits
  • Maintain audit-ready financial documentation
  • Support supplier onboarding and credit checks in collaboration with Legal

Reporting & finance operations

  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Support budgeting and financial planning activities
  • Perform regular account reconciliations and finance administration

Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners
  • Respond to finance-related queries from colleagues and management
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of finance processes
