Role Description

The Data Specialist is responsible for collecting, managing, analyzing, and interpreting data to support business operations and decision-making. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of data across systems, contributing to organizational efficiency and strategic growth. The Data Specialist works closely with various departments to maintain databases, generate reports, and provide actionable insights that drive informed decisions. A strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and technical proficiency are key to success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, process, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain and update databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Perform data cleaning, formatting, and quality assurance to maintain high data standards.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business objectives.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate key findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide analytical support.
  • Assist in the implementation and optimization of data management systems and tools.
  • Monitor data workflows and identify opportunities to improve data processes and automation.
  • Support data governance initiatives, ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection regulations.
  • Provide training and technical support to users on data systems, tools, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in data management, analysis, or related roles.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio.
  • Experience with data cleaning, transformation, and automation tools (e.g., Python, R, Alteryx).
  • Solid understanding of database management systems and data warehousing concepts.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights for non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with data governance, compliance, and information security best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is an advantage.
