Within Hitachi's Industrial cluster, ACG - Air Compressor Group - offers compressed air solutions and technology to the European market. In addition to serving the traditional industrial manufacturing Customers, we are engaged in providing superior Japanese technology to new applications, like e-mobility, medical, and renewables. ACG supplies compressed air technology from Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems Co. Ltd in Japan.

Application Engineer, EMEA Region (m/f/d) - Remote / Hybrid

Your Responsibilities:

The Applications Engineer is responsible for all aspects of engineering application development for assigned products. Provide support from identification of opportunity through the concept generation, quoting, product development and product validation stages and continue to provide technical support to the customer throughout the life of the product.  

• Assist product management and commercial team in identifying applications and provide technical support on sales calls.

• Work with product management to identify how products will fit for specific applications.

• Participate in technical application presentations to educate and train distribution channel and customers.

• Complete specific customer application validation including with engineering.

• Provide technical support after award of business.

• Provide design guidance and training when necessary.

• Responsible for all product application development (feasibility, design studies, and deliverables as required)

• Support engineering department on specific projects to support the overall technical growth of the company.

• Participate with product management to evaluate technologies for the company by identifying potential new products and applications based on experience with customer requirements as well as exposure to other technologies.

• Assist in creating region and specific customer pricing, special pricing and competitor's pricing benchmark

• Be the link between sales team and factory to customize products to meet the requirements. Assisting in getting the price adders and the creation of new BOMs.

• Support in the budgeting process for the EMEA region.

• Maintain the distributor sharepoint.

Your Skills:

We are looking for a team player, who is motivated to deliver great work aligning with the Hitachi vision. The role will be a mixture of remote-hybrid work with days in the Hitachi Office.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering. 

• 3+ years experience in applications engineering with direct customer interaction.

• Experience with compressors/rotating equipment a plus.

• Knowledge of mechanical design principles.

• Experience in industrial manufacturing.

• Knowledge of inspection and measuring equipment techniques.

• Strong 3D CAD background and modeling experience preferred.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Project management skills with emphasis on meeting deadlines.
