This challenge awaits you:

New emission limits and ambitious CO2 legislation are presenting commercial vehicle manufacturers with new challenges that cannot be met with a conventional diesel powertrain. That is why we at IAV are developing a new generation of powertrains for commercial vehicles. Among other things, we are developing approaches to electrification and hybridisation, as well as alternative fuels such as hydrogen.

Your Tasks:
  • You will develop functions for the above-mentioned applications in MATLAB/Simulink or C as part of prototype or small series projects.
  • You will be involved in tool development.
  • You will be responsible for automating work steps, e.g. in MATLAB script or Python.
Necessary Skills:
  • Current studies in engineering or natural sciences, e.g. electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, automotive engineering, control engineering or a comparable degree programme
  • Very good knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink
  • Good knowledge of script programming with MATLAB and ideally Python
  • Good programming skills in C/C++ and initial experience in hardware-related programming
  • Affinity for developing electronics projects such as Raspberry Pi or Arduino
Desired Skills:
  • Good basic understanding of electrical engineering and, ideally, experience in the design of electronic circuits
  • Initial experience in bus protocols such as CAN or J1939 desirable
  • Motivated and team-oriented attitude coupled with a structured and independent way of working

Remuneration is based on our collective bargaining agreement and wage agreement. The current hourly wage for this position is EUR 17.52.
