About the Role

We are looking for an experienced
Data Center Commissioning Engineer
to support the end-to-end commissioning process for a large-scale data center project in Frankfurt. This role involves hands-on technical expertise, rigorous testing, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders to ensure all systems meet operational and performance standards before handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commissioning Execution:
    Perform and oversee commissioning activities for electrical, mechanical, and control systems (HVAC, UPS, generators, BMS, fire suppression, etc.).
  • Test Procedures:
    Develop and implement detailed commissioning scripts and integrated systems testing plans.
  • System Validation:
    Verify installation, functionality, and performance of critical infrastructure against design specifications.
  • Documentation:
    Maintain accurate commissioning records, test results, and compliance reports.
  • Issue Resolution:
    Identify deficiencies, troubleshoot problems, and coordinate corrective actions with contractors and vendors.
  • Compliance & Standards:
    Ensure adherence to ASHRAE, Uptime Institute Tier standards, ISO guidelines, and local regulations.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with project managers, design engineers, and client representatives to align on timelines and deliverables.
  • Handover Support:
    Prepare final commissioning reports and assist in operational readiness for client acceptance.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience:
    Minimum 5+ years in data center or mission-critical facility commissioning.
  • Technical Expertise:
    Strong knowledge of electrical systems (UPS, switchgear), mechanical systems (chillers, CRAC units), and integrated controls.
  • Certifications:
    CxA, LEED, or equivalent commissioning certifications preferred.
  • Tools:
    Familiarity with commissioning software and reporting tools.
  • Language:
    English required; German proficiency is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    Detail-oriented, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work under tight deadlines
