We seek:

In the Faculty IV: School of Science and Technology, Professur für Nachrichtentechnik, we are looking for a researcher  as of the next possible date  at the following conditions:

  • 100% = 39,83 hours  
  • Pay grade 13  TV-L
  • limited  for the duration of three years
Your tasks:
  • Conduct research on energy-efficient wireless communication and sensor systems.
  • Design, model, and experimentally characterize sustainable antennas and wireless system components for Internet of Things (IoT) and industrial applications.
  • Explore approaches to integrate or functionalize antennas for sensing applications in collaboration with partners in materials science and chemistry.
  • Work within the interdisciplinary INCYTE Center for Nanoanalytics, Nanochemistry, and Cyber-Physical Sensor Technologies, benefiting from state-of-the-art laboratories and close cooperation with related disciplines.
  • All research activities encompass modeling, design, and experimental characterization of the developed components and systems.
  • Publish research results in international journals and conferences and actively contribute to collaborative research projects.
  • Support teaching activities (e.g., in laboratory courses, exercises, or supervision of student theses).
  • Teaching duties: 4 SWS
Your profile:
  • Very good university degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in electrical engineering or an equivalent field of study (preferably with a focus on telecommunications, communications engineering, or related areas).
  • Strong intrinsic motivation to pursue a PhD degree and conduct independent scientific research.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental concepts in wireless communications and sensor systems.
  • Desirable: preliminary knowledge in antennas, wave propagation, or radio-frequency engineering.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills as well as a proactive, team-oriented working style.
  • Very good to excellent command of written and spoken English; German language skills are an advantage but not required.
