Job Description:
We are looking for a dynamic and relationship-driven
KOL Specialist
to build, grow, and manage strong partnerships with ophthalmologists and other key opinion leaders.
You will be responsible for creating scientific collaboration initiatives, educational events, research projects, and strategic content that bring visibility to our brand and help attract new customers.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in relationship-building, understands the medical field, and can connect clinical leaders with Custom Surgical's mission and technology.

Primary responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with
KOLs, surgeons, and clinical partners
in ophthalmology; - Identify and recruit new KOLs to collaborate on educational and scientific initiatives;
- Organize
events, webinars, conferences, panel discussions, and live surgeries
with KOLs as speakers or hosts; - Develop and coordinate
clinical research projects, case studies, and publications
in partnership with doctors; - Ensure that KOLs are actively engaged with our products and knowledgeable about our technology;
- Support marketing and sales by generating high-credibility content through KOL interactions.
- Represent Custom Surgical at congresses, conferences, hospital visits, and professional meetings;
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing, Product, and Sales teams to align messaging and opportunities;
- Track and measure the impact of KOL activities on brand visibility and customer acquisition.
It is required:
- Experience working with
healthcare professionals
, preferably ophthalmologists; - Strong relationship-building skills and ability to interact confidently with senior clinicians;
- Ability to organize events and manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously;
- University degree;
- Based in Munich;
- Interest in
research, education, and scientific content
; - Proactive, independent, and comfortable with field activities and travel;
- Fluent in
English; other languages
are a plus; - Understanding of medical devices or clinical workflows is an advantage.
