Application for Airport ID:

Continuous Residence:

Applicants must provide a complete and continuous record of their residence for the last 10 years. Any gaps may delay or prevent the issuance of the airport ID.

Employment History:

Applicants must provide a continuous employment history for the last 5 years. If employment took place outside the European Union within these 5 years, official proof of employment from the respective country must also be submitted with the application.

Work Outside the EU:

If employment or residence took place outside the European Union within the last 5 or 10 years, applicants must independently provide official documents as proof of employment in those countries.

Please note: Processing times for documents from abroad are typically 
4–6 weeks
. However, if the applicant has lived in Germany for 
less than 5 years
, processing usually takes 
6–8 weeks
. Therefore, timely preparation is essential.

Criminal Record Certificates (Führungszeugnis):

All applicants must provide a 
Meldebescheinigung
 which is not older than 4 weeks, and a copy of the passport as the cover. If applicants have spent more than six months abroad within the last five years, they must also provide a police clearance certificate from the respective country/countries, in addition to the German one.

Responsibility:

It is the applicant's responsibility to gather and submit all necessary documents on time for the airport ID application.
