Our client is a leading international developer and operator of renewable energy projects, dedicated to delivering a sustainable energy future. With nearly 30 years of experience, their integrated in-house teams manage the full project lifecycle – from site assessment and permitting to financing, construction, and long-term operations. Their portfolio includes wind and solar farms, battery storage systems, and hydrogen initiatives. Sustainability is central to their mission of securing a livable future for generations to come.

As part of their continued growth, our client is seeking a Energy Originator with the focus on BESS to join their dynamic
Energy Sales & Markets
team. This team acts as the organization's energy competence center, driving forward innovative energy marketing strategies such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), direct supply to industrial clients, and new commercial approaches to battery storage and hydrogen solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop marketing strategies for renewable energy projects, both within and beyond government-supported remuneration systems
  • Identify and implement commercialization opportunities for wind, solar PV, hybrid, and stand-alone battery storage (BESS) projects
  • Negotiate and execute bilateral PPAs in coordination with project planning and financing functions
  • Analyze legal, regulatory, and market frameworks to assess business model impacts
  • Monitor market and policy developments to shape new commercial strategies
  • Independently explore and lead new business initiatives such as energy storage marketing
  • Serve as an expert resource on energy market dynamics and regulatory issues

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in economics, engineering, or a related field
  • Several years of professional experience in electricity sales, procurement, trading, consultancy, or similar roles
  • Preferably, hands-on experience in marketing stand-alone battery storage projects (BESS)
  • Strong knowledge of the German and European energy markets and regulatory environments
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and structuring PPAs with industrial clients
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • A self-directed, goal-oriented, and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Fluency in German and professional proficiency in English; additional languages are an asset
  • Willingness to travel regularly
