Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled
PLC Programmer
to support the development and commissioning of
automated machinery and production systems
.
The focus of this role is on
robust control software
, clear structures, and reliable operation in industrial environments.
You will work closely with electrical design, mechanical engineering, and project management to deliver automation solutions that function reliably in day-to-day production.
Your Key Tasks
- Development, programming, and optimisation of
PLC control software
for industrial machines - Implementation of automation solutions using
Siemens controllers
and engineering tools - Creation and adaptation of
visualisation systems
for machine operation and diagnostics - Support of
commissioning activities
, including functional testing and troubleshooting - Analysis and resolution of faults in existing automation systems
- Coordination with electrical engineering regarding hardware design and I/O concepts
- Documentation of software structures, interfaces, and operating sequences
- Support during acceptance tests and handover to customers or production
Your Background
- Completed training or degree in
Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics
, or comparable qualification - Practical experience as a
PLC Programmer / Automation Engineer
in industrial environments - Strong hands-on knowledge of
Siemens PLC systems
(S7 family) - Experience with:
- TIA Portal
or
STEP 7 - HMI / visualisation systems
(e.g. WinCC or similar) - Industrial communication (PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Ethernet-based fieldbuses)
- Structured and reliable programming style with a strong focus on maintainability
- Willingness to participate in commissioning activities (mostly within Germany, project-dependent)
- Native German speaker or fluent German at C1–C2 level (mandatory)
- Basic English skills for technical documentation and occasional coordination
Technical Focus
- Siemens S7-1200 / S and legacy systems where required)
- TIA Portal / STEP 7
- HMI systems and machine visualisation
- Industrial automation and machine control
