Finance Director (CFO)

Location: Berlin, Germany (On-site)

A high-growth organisation is seeking a highly capable and hands-on
Finance Director
to lead the full rebuild and modernisation of its Finance function. This role is designed for a technically strong finance professional—ideally with investment banking or corporate banking experience—who is ready to take ownership, establish structure, and drive financial excellence in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities


• Build, scale, and lead a modern Finance department that supports the firm's strategic growth


• Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, liquidity and cashflow management


• Design and implement scalable processes, internal controls, systems, and automation initiatives


• Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, delivering clear financial insights and data-driven recommendations


• Manage banking relationships, oversee financing activities, and support investor reporting and communication


• Strengthen governance, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and proactively manage financial risk


• Continuously improve financial processes, reporting quality, and operational efficiency

Key Requirements


• Strong technical understanding of finance, accounting, capital structure, and financial operations


• Experience in
investment banking, corporate banking, or transaction-heavy finance roles


• Fast learner with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach


• Comfortable operating in a startup or high-growth organisation with limited initial structure


• Proven ability to build or upgrade finance teams, processes, and reporting frameworks


• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
