Senior Data Scientist
to join the
AI Content Team
on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences.

At Delivery Hero, you'll shape the global consumer experience for millions of users. Your work will have a direct impact on how we attract and retain customers, creating data-driven, personalized interactions that keep them coming back. As part of our Consumer Team, you'll enhance customer satisfaction and drive global growth and profitability through innovative projects.

Our AI Content Team focuses on generating and enhancing food images and video, turning data into visually engaging and appetising menus. By leveraging cutting-edge computer vision and machine learning techniques, you will lead the creation of compelling, accurate, and high-quality images that drive user satisfaction. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, guiding technical direction and ensuring our content is both data-driven and innovative. This role provides an excellent opportunity to pioneer the latest advancements in AI and deep learning techniques. You'll leverage your expertise to apply analytical abilities in real-world scenarios, mentoring junior team members. Your contributions will enhance user interactions and directly impact global growth and profitability.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the curation of large datasets comprising millions of food images, to identify patterns, insights, and opportunities for improving image generation and enhancement.
• Design, develop, and deploy advanced machine learning and deep learning models to create or refine images and video content, ensuring scalability and robustness.
• Establish and optimize robust data pipelines and experiments to rigorously evaluate model performance, driving continuous improvement.
• Strategically collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate cutting-edge AI solutions into production workflows, acting as a key technical facilitator.
• Define and implement comprehensive strategies for evaluating the quality of generated media using both advanced automated metrics and nuanced user feedback, ensuring high standards.
• Proactively communicate complex findings, project progress, and impactful results to diverse stakeholders, translating intricate data insights into clear, actionable recommendations that influence strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (M.S., Ph.D.) in a quantitative field and/or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience in building and deploying deep learning models.
• Proficient in Python, with extensive experience in libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks.
• Deep understanding and practical experience with classical machine learning algorithms and neural networks.
• Expertise in data preprocessing, cleaning, and transformation for model training.
• Proficient in SQL, including the ability to write complex queries for advanced data manipulation and analysis.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven, hands-on experience working with SOTA computer vision or generative AI models (Diffusion models, Adapters, Transformers, LLMs, etc.)
• Proven track record of managing external stakeholders, providing leadership and mentoring more junior team members.

Nice to Have:

• Prior experience in Computer Vision or image/video generation field
• Hands-on experience with MLOps tools like Docker, Kubernetes, DVC and MLflow, as well as proficiency with at least one major cloud provider (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Publications at top-tier conferences (e.g., CVPR, NeurIPS, ICCV).
