Access & MPLS Network Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Access & MPLS Network Engineer(for our client) to design, implement, operate, and maintain our access and core transmission networks. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of access network technologies (xDSL, GPON, Ethernet, Microwave, etc.) and strong experience in MPLS-based networks, including L3VPN, L2VPN, VPLS, Traffic Engineering (TE), and Quality of Service (QoS).
This role is essential to ensure the stability, scalability, and performance of our network infrastructure that supports both residential and enterprise customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Access Network:
Design, deploy, and maintain various access network technologies including XGS-PON, Ethernet, and Fiber-to-the-x (FTTx).
Monitor and optimize access network performance to ensure high availability and service quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve access-related connectivity and service issues.
Collaborate with field teams for installation, commissioning, and maintenance of access network equipment.
Support capacity planning and expansion of the access network infrastructure.
MPLS Network:
Plan, configure, and maintain MPLS-based networks, including L3VPN, L2VPN, VPLS, and Traffic Engineering (TE).
Implement and optimize QoS policies to ensure service differentiation and performance guarantees.
Conduct network analysis, fault diagnosis, and performance tuning of the MPLS backbone.
Work with vendors and internal teams to ensure interoperability and stability of MPLS network elements.
Document network topology, configurations, and procedures.
General:
Work closely with IP, Core, and Transport teams to ensure end-to-end service delivery.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices in access and MPLS networking.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in access network technologies (xDSL, GPON, FTTx, etc.).
3+ years of hands-on experience with MPLS networks, including L3VPN, L2VPN, VPLS, QoS, and TE.
Experience with Cisco IOS/XR, Junos, or similar network operating systems.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, and related protocols.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent certifications.
Experience with SD-WAN or Segment Routing.
Knowledge of 5G transport, mobile backhaul, or enterprise connectivity solutions.
Experience in network automation using Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
Familiarity with ITIL, SLA management, and service delivery frameworks.
