Who will you join?

The IT Economics department is within Group Technology and Data responsible for the planning, reporting and steering of Allianz Group IT Spend and its alignment with the Group Operations & IT Strategy. Furthermore, the department secures that IT Investments generate value/benefits contributing to financial targets as growth and productivity while keeping IT Spend targets.

As an Senior IT Economics Manager you are responsible to manage the IT Spend (change and run) for Operating Entities (OEs) in your responsibility. In your role you actively drive the planning, reporting and steering of OEs IT Spend and its alignment with the Group Operations & IT strategy as well as with OEs IT budget targets.

You uphold a constructive and effective relationship with OEs, H4 key stakeholders, Group Business Divisions, Group Finance and Allianz Technology. How can you make an impact?

You will:

  • Manage all activities needed to plan, report and steer the OEs IT Spend (change and run) and corresponding benefits
  • Actively ensure that critical topics are identified and analyzed (identify issues, analyze their root causes and their impact, e.g., on financials, timeline, scope), recommend and push for appropriate measures to get activities on track
  • Monitor the OEs IT Change Project Portfolio and perform program-/project reviews of our largest IT programs including all relevant aspects of the value or delivery chain
  • Monitor the OEs IT Run Spend and perform reviews of e.g. run demand, savings and other main drivers
  • Manage an effective and efficient collaboration between OEs (or regions), H4 and its shared services provider AZ Technology
  • Continuous improvement of the existing IT Spend management processes (e.g., definitions and guidelines, data provisioning, data quality review)

What are you made of?

Minimum Qualifications

  • Exceptional academic background in IT, Economics or Business Administration (diploma or master's degree)
  • Very strong controlling & planning expertise and experience 
  • Theoretical as well as practical experience in one of the main project management frameworks ideally with a certification (e.g. PMI, PRINCE2, and/or SAFe)
  • Excellent MS-Office skills in particular MS Excel and MS Power Point
  • Excellent Experience with SAP Integrated Planning as well as ServiceNow
  • VBA and PowerBI skills a plus
  • Very good German and English skills (written and spoken), additional languages a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • More than 10-years work experience in Controlling/Finance and ideally also in Operations and IT in the financial industry or consulting
  • Good understanding of the insurance industry and ideally experience in international project management (waterfall as well as agile set-up) within large and complex IT projects (system implementation/ integration programs, IT transformation)
  • Deep understanding of Operations and IT and their interrelation with business
  • Excellent understanding of financial and operational steering, benefits reporting and their impacts
  • Very good knowledge regarding IT project portfolio management solutions
  • Business maturity and ability to interact effectively with C-Level (e.g. COO, CIO, CTO) and other senior stakeholders 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate financial topics for a non-finance audience
  • Highly self-driven and proactive mindset
  • Strong sense of cooperation and ability to work toward team success
  • Willingness to continuously learn and curiosity
  • Willingness to challenge oneself and counterparties to strive for continuous improvement
  • Previous experience in insurance or asset management business functions, consulting, digital / tech is a plus
  • Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solution
