The Role

We are seeking an experienced
Production Project Lead (m/f/d)
to take a key role in the planning, coordination, and execution of complex
refit and conversion projects
. This position demands technical leadership, commercial understanding, and hands-on coordination across engineering, production, and external partners to ensure every project meets the shipyard's uncompromising standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate production activities for major refit projects
  • Conduct and manage technical and progress meetings with subcontractors and internal departments
  • Supervise construction processes, ensuring compliance with specifications, budget, and schedule
  • Negotiate variations and additional work with stakeholders and suppliers
  • Act as the key production interface between engineering, design, and quality teams
  • Represent the shipyard in external discussions and resolve technical or production-related issues
  • Drive commissioning and acceptance processes through to delivery

Required Experience & Skills

  • Degree in mechanical, marine, or production engineering (or equivalent technical background)
  • Proven experience leading production or project teams within a
    shipyard, yacht builder, or naval refit environment
  • Strong knowledge of shipbuilding or refit workflows, from steel/aluminium construction to outfitting and commissioning
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder-management abilities
  • Confident using ERP systems and standard IT tools
  • Fluent in
    German and English
  • Structured, pragmatic, and able to perform under pressure in a dynamic environment

Desirable

  • Experience in high-end yacht, naval, or special-purpose vessel construction
  • Additional European languages
