Role Description
This is a full-time fully remote role for a Senior PHP Developer based in India, with a primary focus on WordPress development. The Senior PHP Developer will be responsible for back-end web development using PHP, object-oriented programming (OOP), front-end development, software development, and general programming tasks. Day-to-day tasks include developing, testing, and maintaining WordPress-based web applications, building custom WordPress themes from scratch, creating and customizing plugins, handling migrations, integrating WooCommerce for e-commerce functionalities (such as payment gateways, custom checkout flows, and product management), optimizing performance, and designing intelligent data pipelines. The individual will work remotely with a collaborative team to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative WordPress solutions.
Qualifications
4+ years of hands-on experience in core WordPress development, including migrations, custom theme development (using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript), plugin creation/customization, and WooCommerce integrations (e.g., custom extensions, API integrations, and e-commerce optimizations).
Strong skills in Back-End Web Development with PHP and Front-End Development.
Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and general software development techniques.
Experience in full-stack development, including optimizing IT infrastructure and building responsive, SEO-friendly WordPress sites.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with proven experience in remote collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Jira, Git).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience in Python is a plus.
Must be based in India and comfortable with a fully remote work setup.
