About This Opportunity
We are looking for skilled Electro Engineers (m/f/d) specializing in large-scale energy infrastructure, including onshore wind projects and high-voltage substation design, to join our project teams across Germany—possible locations include Hamburg, Berlin, and Mainz. This permanent role offers the opportunity to work on complex infrastructure projects influencing the national energy network with access to modern tools and continuous professional growth.
What You Will Do
- Lead the conceptual design and technical specification of high-voltage substations and internal network systems for onshore wind and grid connection projects.
- Manage external engineering consultants responsible for detailed planning and ensure full compliance with project specifications, regulatory standards, and safety norms.
- Develop electrical Balance of Plant (BoP) systems in coordination with grid managers to guarantee smooth grid integration and adherence to relevant grid codes.
- Support project phases from planning through procurement, construction, and commissioning with technical expertise.
- Perform risk assessments, technical evaluations, and cost estimation for electrical scopes in project financing.
- Stay updated with the latest standards, technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering for renewable energy infrastructure.
- Contribute to process improvement and the establishment of engineering standards within the team.
What We're Looking For
- MSc in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in substation design and electrical engineering of large-scale energy infrastructure projects, ideally in the wind energy sector.
- Deep knowledge of high, medium, and low voltage systems (HV/MV/LV) and relevant German grid codes and certification processes.
- Fluent communication skills in both German and English, essential for coordinating with planners, authorities, and contractors.
- Advantageous: practical site experience during construction and commissioning phases.
