We're seeking a passionate Mechanical FEA Engineer & Mechanical Design Support (m/f/d) to join our engineering team and support the structural performance of cutting-edge unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs). In this role, you'll be a key contributor in driving mechanical design decisions through advanced structural analysis and simulation. You will also collaborate closely with the mechanical design team, contributing hands-on to CAD modeling and design implementation to bring high-performance vehicle components from concept to reality.
If you're excited to apply your mechanical simulation expertise in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovation-driven environment, we invite you to bring your talent and join us.
To join our team, you should be excited to
- Competitive salary and benefits package
- A shaping role in an emerging dual use company
- Own structural analysis for chassis, suspension, enclosures, brackets, payload mounts, and other components under off-road duty cycles
- Define loads, boundary conditions, and material models; develop and correlate simulation results with physical tests where possible
- Run static, modal, and fatigue assessments; propose design changes and validate improvements
- Create simplified models and scalable workflows once an FEA toolchain is selected
- Collaborate with the mechanical design team to implement changes in Autodesk Inventor and manage data in Vault
- Document assumptions, safety factors, and margins; lead and contribute to design reviews focused on structural performance
- Support prototype testing; instrument parts/assemblies and reconcile simulation results with real-world measurements
- Contribute to mechanical design work during low-analysis periods (hands-on CAD modeling and detailing)
- Proficient in structural FEA, including linear static, buckling, modal, and basic fatigue analysis
- Skilled in load case derivation for off-road vehicles or unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs)
