Tasks

Role description

As the Tech Lead of the Payment Infrastructure team, you will oversee the team's strategy, managing IT infrastructure, development, and innovation of our products and services. You will ensure strong leadership and promote a culture of knowledge transfer. Your focus will include quality assurance, software architecture designs and incident prevention while leading the team towards delivering technological solutions that align with business objectives.

We are recruiting for our office in Hamburg.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of software developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Promote knowledge transfer within your team and also across teams, ensuring all technical teams are aligned and working towards shared business objectives.

  • Ensure the team's development and the delivery of high-quality software.

  • Organize the team's internal processes, people management and ensure a close collaboration with the stakeholders

  • Create and review software architecture designs, implement solutions and oversee the production incidents.

  • Ensure performance optimization (e.g: SQL queries, Eclipse Link).

  • Research, conceive and develop software applications to extend and improve on our product offering.

  • Ensure team's clean code that runs in our highly available and distributed environment

  • Develop and maintain integrations for our payment acceptance network and integrations into local acquiring platforms.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Tech Lead or similar leadership role, managing distributed technical teams in a fast-paced environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of web systems architecture, design, development, and quality assurance methodologies.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills

  • Expertise in the Payment industry is a plus.

  • Excellent programming skills in Java with very good knowledge of the frameworks and tools: Spring Framework, JPA etc.

  • Experience with Quarkus is a plus.

  • Experience with ActiveMQ is a plus.

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to align technology solutions with business objectives and cost-reduction goals.
