mbiomics is looking for motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic Microbiology team as Technical Assistant/Research Associate. You will play a central role in our innovative research team. We are looking for an individual with proven laboratory experience to support the team, strong organizational skills and a genuine passion for actively participating in future-oriented projects in the field of microbiome research.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Perform sterilization and disinfection of labware.
- Manage Biohazard Level II (Bio-II) waste sterilization and disposal.
- Organize and maintain cleanliness in laboratories and the sterilization room.
- Operate the laboratory dishwasher for cleaning plasticware and glassware.
- Maintain adequate level of consumables and labware in the laboratory.
- Conduct routine quality control (QC) checks on laboratory equipment.
- Perform routine daily, weekly, and monthly laboratory maintenance tasks.
- Monitor stock levels of laboratory consumables and chemicals.
- Conduct routine environmental hygiene monitoring.
- Receive and process laboratory deliveries.
- Assist team members with reagent and microbiological media preparation.
- Document routine laboratory maintenance work and media preparation activities.
- Provide support to team members as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in a biological/biochemical/biotechnological laboratory is mandatory.
- Willingness to learn about microbiology and new technologies.
- Attention to detail and commitment to following protocols and maintaining compliance with laboratory safety regulations.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Fluent English language skills required, German language skills a plus.
