As a Robotics Software Engineer (m/f/d) (Intelligent Application Focus) at Agile Robots SE, you will be crucial in designing, developing, and implementing AI-driven software applications that enhance our robotic systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions tailored to specific applications across various industries. Your work will directly impact the performance and functionality of our robots, improving their capabilities and usability.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain AI-driven software applications for robotic systems, ensuring high performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, system architects, and other software engineers to integrate AI applications with robotic hardware
  • Conduct research and feasibility studies to explore new AI technologies and methodologies applicable to robotics, such as reinforcement learning, vision language models (VLMs), and action models
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and industry standards
  • Develop and implement algorithms for robot perception, navigation, manipulation, and control
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques, including reinforcement learning, vision language models (VLMs), and action models
  • Test and validate AI applications in real-world environments, ensuring they meet performance and safety requirements
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and stakeholders
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and robotics, and integrate relevant innovations into the development process

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in software development for robotic applications, with a strong understanding of robotics principles and technologies
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python
  • Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System) or similar robotics middleware
  • Knowledge of algorithms for perception, navigation, and control in robotic systems
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques, including large language models (LLMs) and their application in robotics
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Beneficial Skills

  • Experience with simulation tools such as Mujoco, Nvidia Isaac-Sim, or similar
  • Familiarity with hardware interfacing and real-time operating systems
  • Background in developing software for specific applications such as industrial automation, autonomous vehicles, or medical robotics
  • Knowledge of software development tools and practices, including version control systems (e.g., Git), continuous integration, and Agile methodologies
