I am looking for a a Freight Buyer Europe for a Tier 1 automotive supplier in Lippstadt, Germany. They follow a hybrid model where you have the flexibility to work 50% of the time from home (the way you complete that 50% is up to you). They are particularly looking for someone with a focus on road freight (FTL, LTL etc). 
 
What you will do: 
  • Support in setting up central freight purchasing at the company
  • Active participation in the analysis and introduction of state-of-the-art processes and tools
  • Preparation and implementation of group-wide freight tenders (RFQs, inbound-outbound logistics)and the associated nominations
  • Tracking of action plans and goals (savings potential, CSR, satisfaction indicators, etc.)
  • Identification and evaluation of potentials and implementation of the changes to be derived from them
  • Participation in international working groups
  • Conception and implementation of innovative logistics concepts, e.g. in the field of transport and network optimization
  • Intensification of the relationship with the most important internal stakeholders
  • Close cooperation with those responsible for purchasing in the regions and divisions
  • Intensive benchmarking of the market and the players to identify new ideas and solutions
 
Requirements: 
  • German speaking 
  • 3+ years experience in road freight 
  • Proactive, enthusiastic and independent way of working
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written German and English
  • Safe handling of Microsoft Office products, in particular Excel, Word and PowerPoint as well as SAP knowledge
  • Occasional willingness to travel
