We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Job Summary:

A pivotal new role at the heart of bringing PayPal's marketing vision to life across DEATCH. You'll shape PayPal's narrative, drive market share growth, and deepen customer relationships through integrated, insight-driven marketing. Leading a high-performing team, you'll craft and execute campaigns that resonate with millions of users and deliver measurable impact. Collaborating closely with Partner Marketing, Lifecycle/CRM, PR, Product, Legal, and GTM teams, you'll translate market trends and innovation into strategies that strengthen PayPal's position as a leading payments and commerce platform. • Lead complex marketing projects and initiatives to drive business growth
• Resolve complex marketing problems and develop innovative solutions
• Determine methods and procedures for new marketing assignments
• Implement global process improvements to enhance marketing effectiveness
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align marketing strategies with business goals
• Provide thought leadership and expertise in marketing best practices

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

What You'll Do  

• Strategic Growth & Brand Leadership: Define and lead the DEATCH consumer marketing strategy for ambitious growth and market leadership.

• Integrated Marketing & Product Storytelling: Design and execute fully integrated campaigns for consumers. Bring market-leading products to life via a series of launches and enhancements, translating features into compelling benefits across all channels.

• End-to-End Marketing Management: Own the entire marketing process from end-to-end, including strategic planning, meticulous budget management, rigorous ROI tracking, and seamless execution across all paid, earned, and owned media channels.

• High-Performance Team Leadership: Empower, and inspire a world-class DEATCH integrated marketing team, directly leading and mentoring talent.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the wider marketing squads (including Brand, CRM, partnerships, media) and beyond marketing with sales, product, measurement, legal, and more.

• Data-Driven Impact: Use advanced analytics and consumer market intelligence to optimise ROI and inform critical business decisions.

Meet The Team

Our Consumer Marketing team in Berlin drives customer acquisition and engagement across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. You'll report to the Senior Director, DEATCH Consumer Marketing, and work closely with Brand, CRM, Analytics, and Product Marketing teams across Europe and globally. If you're a strategic, hands-on Marketing Expert who thrives on creativity, collaboration, and delivering measurable impact, our team and this role are for you.

What We're Looking For  

• 12+ years marketing experience, with time spent in a senior strategic role focused on DE or DEATCH consumer market growth

• Proven expertise in defining and executing market-leading integrated consumer marketing strategies that drive significant commercial impact

• Exceptional strategic thinking, translating market dynamics into clear, actionable plans.

• Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across global and diverse functional teams

• Strong background in the payments industry is a plus

• Inspirational leader with a proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent

• Outstanding communication and influencing skills

• Bachelor and/or equivalent work experience required 

• German native speaker or native level is a prerequisite

• Fluent Business English is a prerequisite
