This is the role
As the Director of Content Operations, you'll support the German Content leadership in both strategic, business and operational matters across commissioning and production.

The role focuses particularly on content investment management, content planning and launch operations, and content data management, all within a strong commercial framework and aligned with Podimo's overall strategic business objectives.

In the role, you'll work closely with internal stakeholders to optimise audience engagement and commercial return for the German market. The role also supports the Global Content and Commercial teams in data analysis and performance evaluation, informing strategic decision-making across both commissioned and produced content.

You'll be part of our German team working out of our brand-new offices in Berlin. Some travel is to be expected.

What you'll do:

• Operational Leadership: Work closely with the local Content leadership to lead and refine the planning, production, and launch of content. You'll ensure workflows are scalable, efficient, and aligned, overseeing planning and release schedules across the portfolio.
• Content Performance Management: Keep a sharp eye on what drives results. You'll track and analyse performance data, translate insights into action, and share clear recommendations with leadership. From regular updates to deep dives, you'll help guide key investment and renewal decisions.
• Financial Oversight: Own the numbers behind the content. Manage budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting - and use data to make wise investment calls that maximise ROI and ensure we hit performance targets.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with colleagues across Content, Production, Legal, Marketing, Data, Finance, and Product to ensure every content initiative supports Podimo's broader strategy. You'll be the operational bridge between local teams and our global content leadership.
• Process Improvement: Continuously simplify and refine our work processes. You'll refine operating procedures and workflows to boost speed, quality, and scalability across all content operations.
• Team Development: Lead, mentor and inspire local Content Operations, Commissioning, and Production teams. You'll build a high-performing culture grounded in accountability, innovation, data fluency and continuous learning.

This is you

• You have solid experience in content operations, production management, or a related field within the media and entertainment industry.
• You're skilled at turning complex workflows into smooth, scalable systems and thrive in a fast-moving, collaborative and creative environment.
• You combine strategic perspective with operational precision — comfortable switching between long-term planning and day-to-day problem-solving.
• You have strong commercial and financial acumen, with hands-on experience in budget ownership, forecasting, and ROI analysis.
• You're data-driven and insight-led, able to translate content performance metrics into clear actions and recommendations.
• You bring excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, both at executive and operational levels.
• You're fluent in both German and English, verbally and in writing.

Naturally, being passionate and knowledgeable about podcasts, audio content, media, and entertainment is a big plus
