Description
General Statement of Duties: This position provides exceptional customer service to incoming callers and customers. Position responsibilities include answering incoming calls, directing calls to the appropriate associates, distributing mail, assembling proper loan documentation for loan packages and reviewing loans to ensure they conform to established company policies. Upholding customer confidentiality is a must.
Essential Job Functions:
- Professionally administers all calls by greeting callers in a friendly, hospitable manner.
- Promptly greets lobby customers and directs them to the appropriate area where their needs can be met.
- Transfers callers to voicemail or takes messages as needed when co-workers are unavailable.
- Answers customer inquiries about the status of various accounts over the phone.
- Transfers funds from account to account and advances money from pre-approved lines of credit as directed by the customer.
- Processing and monitoring insurance and forcing policies as needed
- Processing and balancing credit life and A&H insurance claims
- Reviewing flood zone changes for loan renewals and modifications
- Preparing loan files for audits and exams
- Assisting with managing repossession files
- Processing Missouri Linked Deposit renewals and SBA reporting
- Provides callers with general bank information such as the bank address, directions to bank branches, fax numbers, the website address and other related information.
- Ensures branch work is bagged and ready for courier pick-up.
- Performs a variety of clerical duties including photocopying, faxing, filing, and ordering stamps.
- Transcribes a variety of technical and non-technical correspondence and documents such as new loans, loan renewals, loan denials, loan extensions, and letters.
- Ensures that Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) verifications have been completed correctly.
- Assists in the collection and processing of mail as needed.
- Ensures loan information is complete and accurate before inputting or updating data into the computer system.
- Processes and files title applications, liens, UCC form, appraisals, and other specified records and reports.
- Assists customers and other financial institutions over the phone, in person, or in writing with routine inquiries regarding payoffs, note modifications, beneficiaries, and other loan details.
- Processes paperwork for payments or fees.
- Comprehends general ledger accounts/transactions.
- Provides back up support for the other loan department functions as needed.
- Follows bank policies and procedures, including state and federal regulations at all times.
- Upholds customer service guidelines by serving customers in a cordial and professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction with the service provided by the bank.
- Maintains departmental appearance, both personal and general.
- Actively cross-sells bank services to customers.
- Takes advantage of opportunities to promote the Bank when involved in voluntary community activities and civic organizations to cross sell the Bank's products and services.
- Completes other duties and assists in other departments as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience with loan application software, policies, procedures, and documentation preferred.
- One year prior experience in an office or financial institution environment preferred.
- Experience with PC software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred.
- Knowledge of computer systems and changing technology, including word-processing, spreadsheets, Internet, and internal bank software.
- Experience with PCs, copy machines, mail sorters, typewriters, calculators and other general office equipment preferred.
- Excellent command of the English language and grammar.
- Prior experience in a customer service environment preferred.
- Excellent phone etiquette.
- Ability to pay attention to detail.
- Prior experience working within a team environment preferred.
- Demonstrates aptitude for accuracy with numbers.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on assigned tasks and to accept direction on given assignments.
