As the world leader in secure connectivity solutions for embedded applications, our client is driving innovation in the automotive, industrial & IoT, mobile, and communication infrastructure markets.
For many applications, there is an ongoing need to make use of higher frequencies of the electromagnetic spectrum, which require technological innovations both for development and validation of new products. Therefore, our client is engaging in the German part of the EU R&D program "important project of common European interest" (IPCEI) for microelectronics.
As part of this program, our client has built a brand-new laboratory for high frequency technologies in Hamburg. This serves as a competence center for system-level RF validation supporting product development and innovation projects from multiple products lines. Further, new concepts for system-level RF validation are investigated in the sub-THz spectrum and beyond (frequency range ≥ 100 GHz). The Lab will be a key player supporting innovation and development for the next generation of automotive radar, robotics, and the 6th generation of mobile communications (6G) within our client.
Tasks:
• Support the development and automation of RF and communications test solutions.
• Design, build, and maintain mechanical prototypes and fixtures for RF test setups.
• Execute RF measurements and validation tasks with good understanding of high-frequency principles.
• Develop and integrate RF and mechanical systems for automated test execution and lab workflows.
• Analyze and troubleshoot issues across software, hardware, and measurement equipment.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of lab automation architecture, including mechanical and RF components.
• Create hardware and software tools to enhance RF lab efficiency.
• Support feasibility studies and prototyping for RF systems and mechanical demonstrators.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of mechanical and RF systems.
• Document procedures and maintain records in compliance with ISO9001/IATF16949 standards.
Profile:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience in robotics (e.g., collaborative robots, motion control systems).
• Practical skills in mechanical design and prototyping (e.g., CAD, 3D printing, machining).
• Good knowledge of RF measurement techniques and equipment (e.g., VNAs, spectrum analyzers).
• Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or similar scripting languages; experience with automation frameworks is a plus.
• Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, SystemVue) and data analysis methods.
• Structured, solution-oriented, and quality-focused work style.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); German is a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally (~2–4 weeks/year).
