Software System Engineer – Image Processing

As part of our space data systems projects, you will take on a key role in developing and integrating the image-processing chain.

Your Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary interface between the instrument team and the software pre-processing team
  • Integrate the image-processing chain while accounting for mission-specific requirements
  • Plan and coordinate the image processor test campaign, including defining test cases, executing tests, and evaluating results
  • Coordinate and support the verification and validation activities for the image-processing chain
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external project partners on technical topics
  • Support programming and data analysis in C++ and IDL during system integration and test evaluation

Your Qualifications

  • Degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, aerospace engineering, or a comparable field
  • Experience in software development
  • Several years of professional experience in digital image and signal processing
  • Strong proficiency in C++ and ideally experience with IDL
  • Proven experience in coordinating technical interfaces and interdisciplinary teams
  • Experience in the technical implementation of projects
  • Structured, independent working style paired with strong communication skills
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English
