Bench Scientist Discovery Biology

Your role:
In this position, you will plan and execute tailormade in‑vitro experiments to investigate mechanisms of action for molecular targets in disease biology. You will independently perform cell culture, molecular biology (ELISA, qPCR, Western blot), and histology (IF/IHC, RNAscope‑ISH) experiments, while contributing to the development and validation of physiologically relevant in‑vitro models, and profiling compounds for pipeline projects.You will collaborate closely with colleagues across Discovery Biology and other functions to enable continued testing of drug candidates and scientific hypotheses. You will support general lab management including managing inventories, sample stocks, and orders.You stay current with the literature, proactively learn and validate new techniques (e.g., Multi Electrode Arrays, single‑cell transcriptomics), critically review protocols and results, and ensure timely documentation and presentation of findings in group meetings, adhering to quality and ethical standards in all experimental records.
Who you are:
Master's degree in molecular biology or cell biologyMinimum 6–9 months of experience working in a cell culture labDemonstrated expertise in cell culture methods, including iPSC‑derived cellular systemsProficient with ELISA, qPCR, and Western blottingSkilled in immunofluorescence staining (IF/IHC, RNAscope‑ISH) and microscopy methodsExperience with techniques related to Multi Electrode Arrays, library preparation for transcriptomics, or CRISPR/Cas9 is preferredProactive learner who follows the latest developments, can design/execute experiments from literature and seminars, and shows scientific curiosity through critical review of protocols and results Fluent in english - german is a plusHC-RD-IED Advanced in Vitro Models
